Dominance War V ideas

So Dominance War V has finally started, I'm really liking the Gods theme. I've decided to make a Goddess of Time (this one seems very popular, I've seen three other people make a God/Goddess of Time (and Space) thread on the Gameartisans Forum right after I made mine).

Initial concepts and ideas, I want to make her half dark and half light to symbolize night and day. And of course she has to hold an hourglass :D. Wasn't actually too sure about giving her proper clothing as I thought a Goddess of Time wouldn't really need that, but I may change my mind later. Her surface isn't going to be skin or any flesh, I want to give it a metal-like surface as shown in the mask picture.

Would love to hear thoughts on this.

Aviator

Just finished my 3D aviator with the corrections I made after getting some crit around, which was very helpful.

This has been fun, but I am very much looking forward to starting my FMP!

Pre Dom War 5 - Technomage category

My Pre-Dominance War 5 challenge. I tried to give her some "special effects" around her weapon but they turned out poor :(. She is a blind mage who relies on her weapon's "eyes" (those orbs) to guide her.

Jack Sparrow and "generic" head

Tried a more realistic-looking face this time.

Previously I did this one which was a made-up character head (but based her features on various actresses):

Female head Zbrush

Screenshot of my Zbrush sculpture of a female head so far. I based some of her features on various actresses. I hope she's a bit more realistic-looking than the Max version in my previous post!

The symmetry tool in Zbrush was being odd for this one, the line wasn't really in the middle so some parts of her right side (our left) aren't exactly the same as her left side... that's why her nose looks wonky :\

Renders and wireframe of self-portrait model

I almost posted this accidentally into the Game Art speed blog, thankfully the tag previews alerted me ("LOL POKEMON").

Well here are some renders of my self-portrait model. I kind of like it and dislike it at the same time.

5,507 triangles.

A few attempts later...

NOW she looks more like me... I hope.

New self-portrait head

Redid most of my head model a few times to get the topology loops right. Thanks to Del and Alan for the crits.

The joys of Zbrush!

I started giving Zbrush a try last night - it was frustrating at the start (like with all new programs, heh), but this morning I got a little more used to it and now I'm quite enjoying it!

My face (or an attempt at it):

Quickly painted my hair onto it in Photoshop as I don't like being bald...hehehe:

I don't think it looks like me >_>. Lots more need to be done, like the cheekbones and forehead, and the features probably need more tweaking too.

Self-portrait project update

Thanks to all of those who voted and commented on my concept designs (Blogger, Facebook and my personal LJ); number one and two were the most popular designs so I've mixed them up a bit in my final design.

A few work-in-progress images of the model:

Topology is quite messed up, need to fix that...

6,615 tris so far.

CHOOSE YOUR DYNASTY WARRIOR!

... I mean, choose the outfit design you like for my self-portrait in Mortal Engines theme (the items of clothing can be swapped around). Pilot of an airship, Eastern style:

Whoo, choosing to be a citizen of Shan Guo gives me an excuse to dress myself in a Hanfu-style outfit! Heh. I just love the fact that the name "Shan Guo" is a reference to Sanguo yanyi, aka "Romance of the Three Kingdoms" which I have been obsessed with for over a year now (the Dynasty Warriors games are based on this historical novel).

And my city is now complete!
